Who I am & contact
I am a cultural historian, artist, and designer. I am University Professor of Art, Media, and Cultural History at The New School and Director of the Gender & Sexuality Studies Institute.
My historical research focuses on: reproductive justice; histories of sex work activism; gender and labor activism; graphic satire of the modernist radical press in the United States; visual and print culture; and feminist biography.
As an academic, I have been a faculty member and administrator in higher education in art and design for over 29 years. I am also founding partner of Campbell Schreiber, a Strategic Enrollment consultancy firm.
I hold an MA and PhD in US History from Johns Hopkins University; an MFA in Photography and Writing from the California Institute of the Arts (Valencia); and a BFA in Graphic Design from the Rhode Island School of Design.
